International certifications and timber traceability

Sustainability

The goal of certification is to assure a sustainable and responsible management of the world’s forests. This is accomplished by identifying timber from properly and responsibly managed forests according to rigorous environmental, social and economic standards. When a product is certified, it confirms that the forest of origin and the individuals involved in its custodianship and harvest were vetted and evaluated by independent authorities following specific standards.
Luvisoni & Co. has been certified by FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council ®) and PEFC ™ (Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification™) since 2008.

Legality

Since 3 March 2013, Regulation (EU) n. 995/2010 and subsequent secondary legislation, known as EUTR (European Timber Regulation), came into force in the countries of the European Union. The objective of the Regulation is to increase the general level of legality of the entire European market for wood and products derived from it through the adoption of due diligence systems.

From 29 June 2023, Regulation (EU) n. 1115/2023, known as EUDR (European Deforestation Regulation), which repeals regulation (EU) n. 995/2010, came into force in the countries of the European Union. The objective of the Regulation is to prohibit the entry into the EU of wood products and products derived from it that do not comply with the legislation applicable in the countries of extraction of the raw material and to prohibit the import and export from the community of products that have caused deforestation or forest degradation after 31 December 2020.
